White Mountain Textiles Bed Bug Covers

When in search of good bed bug covers you need a cover that not only prevents bed bugs from escaping but also prevents bed bugs from biting. A good bed bug cover must also be breathable for a comfortable night’s sleep. The White Mountain Textile bed bug covers protect from bed bugs, dust mites, and allergens. They also provide 100% water proof protection for your bed.

Pluses:

  • These are our best feeling bed bug covers – the mattress cover and pillow covers have a stretch knit surface which feels like jersey cotton
  • The mattress covers come in a variety of depths so you can get a nice tight fit on your mattress and not have to deal with bagging under your sheets
  • These are some of our easiest encasements to put on because the fabric stretches
  • A great value choice providing excellent protection from bed bug bites, dust mites and their allergens, and they keep your bedding safe from liquid spills or accidents
  • Comfortable to sleep on without getting too hot at night
  • The mattress and pillow covers are discrete under your sheets. When laying in bed you would not know you have covers on your mattress because the knit fabric does not have a slick vinyl-like feel under your sheets (as is the case with most bed bug covers)
  • Easy to zip and get a tight close so bed bugs don’t escape
  • 5 year warranty is very good for the bedding industry

Minuses:

  • Due to the laminate layer, they do not breath as freely as some of our other covers (you will really only notice this with the pillow covers as once your pillow is inside the encasement you may notice it takes a little longer than normal for it to compress and recover because the air takes longer to escape through the cover)
  • As with all synthetic fibers and poly-based fabrics, if you have multiple chemical sensitivities or super sensitive skin these covers may cause you irritation
  • The box spring is not as nice of a fabric as the mattress and pillow covers, but you never sleep on this cover so it is not a major concern (it helps keep the cost of the sets more affordable)

Summary:

One of the things I like best about the White Mountain Textiles Bed Bug covers is the fabric in which the mattress encasement and pillow covers are made from. The polyester stretch knit fabric really does feel like a jersey cotton which makes these much nicer to sleep on than the bed bug encasements that have a more rigid and slick vinyl-like feel. These also do not smell like plastic and are easy to put on thanks to their stretch. The laminate layer is breathable and pliable so it does not hinder the feel of the covers. Another big plus to these bed bug sets is the mattress covers come in 3 different depths so you can get the correct fit for you mattress. This helps keep your bedding fitting nice and looking tidy. The box spring cover is made of a cheaper fabric that is polypropylene. Though this fabric does not feel as nice, it is durable and proven to be an effective barrier to bed bugs, and at the end of the day that is all you need from a box spring cover. I am sure the box spring cover was made from this material to help keep the costs of these sets at an affordable price.
