Sinus Pain and ClearEase

by Murray Grossan, M.D.

Question:
Every time the weather changes weather cold or hot or the barometer falls and it rains I get horrendous "sinus headaches"...pain and aching in my forehead and heaviness in my eyes...It is almost unbearable!....What can I do? Does Clear Ease help?...Shall I try acupuncture?..I had five plastic surgeries on my nose so I am sure this didn't help...Can You Help Me?....Thanks!

  • Answer:
The sinus pain you describe sounds like swelling of the membranes. What helps is to reduce the swelling.

Clear.ease is a combination of Papaya and Pineapple proteolytic enzymes. This means that they reduce inflammatory swelling. You melt these in your mouth between the cheek and the gums. Take one 3x a day. This avoids the stomach where the enzyme can be inactivated, plus you get better absorption. Clear.ease also thins the mucus. If you have thick mucus blocking your sinuses that also makes for pain - called a Vaccum Sinusitis. With the blockage, the oxygen in the sinus is absorbed; creating a vacuum that feels like a 5 lb weight on your eyeball. Actually a vacuum sinusitis is much more painful than a sinus infection with lots of pus.

Clear.ease is just papaya and pineapple so there is no drug interaction or contraindication unless you are allergic to pineapple.
