In conclusion, Mercia, and at the risk of encroaching on your time for relaxing, I would like to add info regarding nuclear radiation. Possibly you have already covered it in earlier newsletters. To attempt to replace the fear that many of us are experiencing, possibly a little info will bring back some security that we all have cherished in the past. To simplify the way a Nuclear bomb would behave, is a start. At the point of detonation essentially 3 expanding rings of activity will radiate out from the center. The inner first ring we can call the "concussion" ring. It is the smallest. The second expanding ring we can call the "heat" ring and it covers a larger area around the point of detonation. The last ring which covers a larger area and is prone to spreading from the prevailing wind we can call the "radiation" ring.

The inner two rings "concussion" and "heat" will probably have no survivors. HOWEVER, there is something that each of us can do to survive the larger and, more than likely, moving "radiation" ring. The foil strips allow me to conveniently store a strip or strips in my glove compartment or in a handbag if flying. Should a terrorist place an explosive device in a crucial area of a Nuclear power plant then we only need to be concerned primarily with the "Radiation" leakage.
