We do suggest cleaning out the tank and remove any build up and deposits from the ultrasonic disk a few times during the humidifying season. This ensures proper humidification and also prolongs the life of the humidifier. There is a faint blue light that could be bothersome for those who are sensitive to light while sleeping. Overall, this is a nice contemporary humidifier which puts out plenty of moisture quietly and effectively for smaller areas.
