Air-O-Swiss 7133 Room Humidifier
Air-O-Swiss 7133 Room Humidifier
I am now in to my fourth winter season of using our Air-O-Swiss 7133 humidifier. The Air-O-Swiss 7133 and 7135 models get my favorite vote as a humidifier because they are reliable, silent, can be warm or cool mist, and disperse water vapor into a room at a fast clip. The price on the 7133 model has now been reduced and we are the only company that is offering this humidifier at the new low price with a bonus ionic stick included. With the heating now turned on my husband’s snoring is keeping me awake so I am dusting off our Air-O-Swiss, putting in a replacement demineralization cartridge and I will be all set for another winter season. Please note that the Air-O-Swiss 7133 has been discontinued by the manufacturer but our best selling Air-O-Swiss 7135 humidifier with digital controls is still available at $169.95.

Dear Christi,
As an introduction, I head operations for AllergyBuyersClub.com. I apologize for the recent frustration you have experienced.
In your e-mail to us you referred to “replacement beads”. This could be referring to the demineralization cartridge (which contains beads) or ezCal. We think you are talking about ezCal. I am sorry that it has been very difficult to find ezCal for your Air-O-Swiss humidifier. ezCal is a great product and we are pleased that Air-O-Swiss has added this product to its line. Recently, we have decided to carry ezCal on our website, in addition to the ionic silver stick and demineralization cartridge. It will appear soon. In the meantime, if you wish to purchase ezCal from us, I would suggest you speak with Sue (who you spoke with before) who can take care of this for you. Her number is 1-888-236-7231 x-214.
I hope this helps.
Very best,
Bob Scott
Christi,
Additionally, please be aware that Air-O-Swiss humidifiers are good products. The issue is the quality of the water going into the unit which is why maintenance is so important.
Also, AllergyBuyersClub.com has a competitive returns policy which is similar to many retailers: 30 days from date of purchase. You purchased your product in May of this year.
We have built a successful business based on the principles of selling quality products supported by responsive customer support.
Bob
Hi Christi,
The Air-O-Swiss 7135 ultra-sonic humidifier purchased from us is one of the best humidifiers we have carried over the years. The best thing about the product is how well it humidifies a room while at the same time being extremely quiet. However, the quality of the water used in the unit will vary the frequency of the maintenance. Normally, one can get by with cleaning once every 1 to 2 weeks and changing the demineralization cartridge once every 2 to 3 months. Of course, depending on how hard the water you are using in the unit is will affect the changing frequency. However, one can elect to use reverse osmosis or distilled water which will void out the need to use the demineralization cartridges all together and at the same time lessen the frequency of cleaning. The EZCal decalcification cleaner is available to periodically clean any mineral buildup that can occur in the container and the reservoir base. Once or twice a month is all that is necessary on the average but as I already stated the frequency can increase if the water you are using is hard with a high level of minerals. All in all, this product does not have a high level of maintenance compared to a great deal of the humidifiers out in the market place. I hope this explanation is helpful.
Sincerely,
David
You will know that your cartridge needs replacing when the waterflow from the container into the reservoir decreases. Also, if you start to notice white mineral dust in and around your humidifier this would be another indication the demineralization cartridge is in need of replacement.
A good water filter may reduce the maintenance somewhat but only if you use water without minerals such as distilled or Reverse Osmosis treated water would you see a significant decrease in the required cleaning maintenance.
There is no real way to determine whether or not the silver ionic stick needs replacement. It is recommended that one replace it every 12 months.
One can use white distilled vinegar to clean the mineral deposits from the base of the humidifier.
The pulp free lemon juice will work as a decalcification agent.
I hope this answers all of your questions.
Sincerely,
David
Hello Keith,
My recommendation would be for the unit to be replaced. If you have already tried replacing the cap and it is still allowing to much water to flow into the reservoir causing it to overflow the unit should be exchanged.
Please contact our customer service department to set-up an exchange for the unit. Go to http://www.allergybuyersclubshopping.com/cgi-bin/contact.pl
and complete the contact form. Notate the reason for contacting us from the drop down menu as (Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds.
Sincerely,
David
